We all ponied up. I forget who had that Tuesday off. It was probably Niki; she had the wonkiest schedule. Whoever it was, she waited outside Tower Records in San José, pacing between the palms out front with a small crowd of equally obsessive fans, until they opened their doors and sold her a dozen copies of Spilt Milk, one for each of us.

I wanted to be Andy Sturmer so hard. But I could never pull off horizontal stripes.

I was a crazy obsessed Jellyfish fan. I did the Tower Records midnight sale for "Spilt Milk" in San Bernardino ....and I was the only one there.
I actually hunted down a copy of it on vinyl which was only released in Holland.
