it was kind of a revelation to me. i felt a lot of trepidation about entering the gay world and was taken very much by surprise when it turned out to be a good thing. my first bear run was TBRU 2007, which was totally overwhelming, mostly in a good way.
anyway, i have a particular memory of being at a huge country and western gay bar in dallas during the trip, with all of these couples in their cowboy hats two-stepping to pop trash, and "since u been gone" came on, and i just felt so fucking joyously happy and free.
corny but fuck it. DID I JUST SHOW ACTUAL EMOTION?
also, i watched that remix video of cooking by the book approximately 500 times at work.
